Tamara Bedricky Performs at AACC
March 3, 2006
Performance
Tamara Bedricky, one of the country most gifted young singer-songwriters, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 30, at a coffeehouse staged in the Cade Center for Fine Arts Room 219 at Anne Arundel Community College.
Sponsored by the AACC Campus Activities Board, "An Evening with Singer/Songwriter Tamara Bedricky" is a free performance showcasing a skilled singer and musician who has captivated crowds and won fans nationwide, performing in small and large venues including Nashville, Tenn., St. Louis, Detroit, Chicago, New York and Los Angeles. Some of Bedricky’s hit songs include: "A Million Miles," "Coming Clean" and "Do You Feel Me?"
A Detroit native, Bedricky, 22, has studied guitar since age 15 and on her Web site says she was inspired to develop her own melodies -- a marriage of music and lyrics, she calls it -- from contemporary artists such as Sheryl Crow, Duncan Sheik, Sting and Sarah McLachlan. She burst onto the national music scene in 2002 when she outperformed more than 1,900 other singer/songwriters and was named one of five finalists in the second annual Pantene Pro-Voice Competition, a national competition showcasing up-and-coming female musicians. Much of Bedricky’s music is personal, focusing on her thoughts about emotional growth and healing, as they relate to life, love, heartache and detachment.
