Education
Anne Arundel Community College and the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) have updated an articulation agreement benefiting students pursuing a career in social work.
The agreement allows AACC students who earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in Human Services to transfer up to 60 credits into UMBC’s Bachelor of Arts degree program in Social Work. All AACC transfer students must take at least 60 credits of upper-division social work courses at UMBC.
According to AACC’s Office of Planning, Research and Institutional Assessment, one out of every 14 jobs in Maryland are health related. The human services degree program at AACC prepares students for the strong job market with four degree and two certificate programs in the field. In addition to classroom lectures, students receive more than 300 hours of field experience at local and regional hospitals, shelters, treatment clinics, schools and other counseling facilities.
For information call AACC at 410-777-2390 or UMBC at 410-455-2291.
