Education
Wine lovers, rejoice! Anne Arundel Community College this spring is uncorking two new courses on wines of Maryland and Napa Valley accompanied by a hearty selection of wine-related noncredit, continuing education classes.
In the new offering “Napa Valley Wines” (CUI 310), AACC partners with Wine Cellars of Annapolis to showcase wine varieties from that region. Compare and contrast flavors of Napa Valley varieties, which are paired with hors d’oeuvres in this $59 class. Savor your coursework from 7-9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, at Wine Cellars of Annapolis.
“Wine Tour of Maryland” (CUI 314), offered Saturday, April 21, transports you from the Arnold campus via college van to northern Maryland, where you’ll enjoy private tours of three vineyards. Sample each vintner’s wines, which are paired with cheeses, and receive a souvenir glass. This $55 class meets 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Also on the roster are wine lovers’ favorites. “Wine Appreciation” (GOU 305), $177, is offered in eight sessions from 7-9 p.m. Wednesdays, Feb. 21-April 18, while “Wine Appreciation 2” (GME 326), $130, runs 7-9 p.m. Thursdays, Feb. 8-March 15. Both take place on the Arnold campus.
Choose one or more of a trio of 7-9 p.m. classes set at Wine Cellars of Annapolis. There’s “Excellent Italian Food and Wine” (GMT 345), $65, on Friday, March 30; “A Bouquet of French Culture” (GME 330), $65, on Thursday, April 19; and “Fromage Et Vin (Cheese and Wine)” (GME 331), $50, on Thursday, May 10.
The Arnold campus is at 101 College Parkway. Wine Cellars of Annapolis is at 1410 Forest Drive.
