AACC Library Exhibit Features Books on Korean Art

Feb. 3, 2009

Anne Arundel Community College has added a second Korean exhibit to its February celebration of Korean culture.

Truxal Library is exhibiting “Korea: Art and Culture” through Feb. 28 in its second floor lobby display case to complement the exhibit “An Art Exchange: Korea / Maryland” through Feb. 27 in the Cade Center for Fine Arts gallery and the Feb. 7 “Korean Culture Celebration.” The Truxal exhibit contains more than 20 books from the library’s collection plus images of Korean art from the library’s art database, ARTstor, cookware and art objects on loan from a community member who worked in Korea.

Books in the exhibit may be borrowed; they include “Arts of Korea,” “Growing up in a Korean Kitchen,” “Perspectives on Korean Dance” and “From the Fire: Contemporary Korean Ceramics.” Library hours are 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday.

For exhibit information call 410-777-2211 or e-mail library@aacc.edu; general library information is available at the Library Web site. The Arnold campus is at 101 College Parkway.
