Anne Arundel Community College’s Center for World Languages in January will begin offering a new “Pathways to Proficiency” Farsi (Dari) language course series for service members, government personnel and defense contractors preparing for deployment to the Middle East.
AACC also offers world language certificates in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. The courses are ideal for professionals who deploy to various regions of the world or conduct business around the globe.
These comprehensive, eight-course sequenced programs are designed to progressively improve practical, everyday foreign language skills at the beginning and intermediate levels. There is an intensive focus on spoken language skills, and the 30 to 40 hours of instruction per course ensures proficiency.
Students successfully completing all four courses in each language series will receive a Continuing Education and Workforce Development certificate. All classes are offered two evenings per week, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., and will start the week of Jan. 25.
