Audition in February for a role in the Anne Arundel Community College Theatre at AACC April production of the Tony award-winning comedy “Urinetown, The Musical.”
One of the funniest musicals of the past decade, the production is packed with dance numbers and memorable songs. The storyline focuses on a town where the lack of water has made it as valuable as gold. Using the public facilities can cost an arm and a leg!
Auditions begin at 7 p.m. Monday or Tuesday, Feb. 16 or 17 (come one night only), at the Pascal Center for Performing Arts on the Arnold campus, 101 College Parkway. Prepare 16 bars of music from any musical other than “Urinetown” and bring the sheet music for accompaniment. Come dressed for movement and be ready for cold readings from the script. Callbacks are 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, also in the Pascal Center for Performing Arts.
Rehearsals start Monday, Feb. 22, with performances April 16-25.
Directing is Lars Tatom, assistant professor of performing arts and coordinator of the AACC theater program, with musical direction by Douglas Brandt Byerly, department chair of performing arts, and choreography by Tommy Parlon.
