G.I. Jobs has named Anne Arundel Community College to its 2011 list of Military Friendly Schools, a recognition AACC has achieved for the second consecutive year.
The list honors the top 15 percent of more than 7,000 colleges, universities and trade schools nationwide surveyed by G.I. Jobs in May on their programs and services for America’s veterans. Schools on the list offer additional benefits to student veterans such as on-campus veterans programs, credit for service, military spouse programs and more. G.I. Jobs is published by a Victory Media, a veteran-owned business in Pennsylvania.
AACC includes among its outreach initiatives for veterans, military personnel and their dependents a special area on its Web site devoted to active duty and retired servicemembers and veterans. It offers student services at the Fort Meade Army Education Center and is a member of the Servicemembers Opportunities Colleges. The college participates in numerous military programs such as GoArmyEd, the Air Force’s General Education Mobile initiative and the Reserve Officer Training Corps.
