Career Expo for Spanish-Speaking Persons Set at AACC

      Dress for job interviews and bring copies of your resume to Anne Arundel Community College Monday, Sept. 27, for the 2nd annual “AACC Career Expo for Spanish-speaking Persons.”

      Employers are seeking bilingual job seekers as well as those who speak primarily Spanish. AACC students, alumni and members of the community are welcome to attend the 10 a.m.-2 p.m. career expo, which is part of the AACC celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month Sept. 15-Oct. 15. Translators are available at this free event, which features a no-charge resume review during the expo plus employer tables and information tables. Get ready for the event by attending a 9-10 a.m. workshop on interviewing and the job search.

      The career expo takes place in the Center for Applied Learning and Technology Room 100 and the workshop is in Room 109. Employers can call 410-777-2770 for table information. About 30 employers will attend.

      Participating employers and organizations to date include AACC’s corporate partners: AFLAC, Midasco LLC, Thompson Creek, the U.S. Marines and Verizon Wireless. Others are: Anne Arundel Community College – Human Resources, Anne Arundel County Office of Central Services/Minority Business Enterprise MBE Program, Best Buy Mobile, Carchex, The Coordinating Center, Davco Restaurants (DBA) “ Wendys,” the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation Anne Arundel One-Stop Career Centers -- Veterans Workforce, The Employment Guide of Baltimore, Express Employment Professionals, Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department, Fairfax County Police Department, H&R Block, Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services/Human Resources, Maryland Park Service, PNC Financial Services Group, Primerica Inc. (Bowie office) and Primerica Inc./EPH Group (Davidsonsville office), Pollin Miller Hospitality Strategies, Priority Partners Managed Care Organizations and State Employees Credit Union.
