Sept. 24, 2010
See works by more than a dozen practicing artists who also teach at Anne Arundel Community College on display in the Oct. 6-29 “AACC Visual Arts Faculty Show” at the Cade Center for Fine Arts Gallery.
Works on display include paintings, drawings, sculptures, ceramics, photography and video. Enjoy the variety of approaches to artmaking represented. Ideas and representations in painting alone range from the impressionist palette of Abigail McBride of Chesapeake City to the painterly domestic still life of Brian Kelley of Alexandria, Va., to the high contrast, hard-edge compositions of Lillian Hoover of Baltimore to the pop explorations of Chris Mona of Severna Park.
The community is invited to two free events on Oct. 6. Join the artists for a discussion of the show at noon in the gallery. Meet the artists and mingle while enjoying the art at 6-8 p.m. reception.
Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays, with evening hours on Wednesdays from 6-9 p.m. The gallery is on the Arnold campus, 101 College Parkway. For information visit www.aacc.edu/cadegallery or contact Chris Mona, gallery coordinator and professor of visual arts, firstname.lastname@example.org or 410-777-7028.
