AACC Sets Up Study Areas During Library Renovation

Nov. 10, 2011
Education

Quiet study areas and two group study spaces are now in place around the Arnold campus to accommodate student demand formerly met by spaces within the Truxal Library, which is undergoing renovation.

All library services and resources moved to a temporary location across from the Student Services Building and Jenkins Gymnasium in August. Study space in the temporary library is limited, and no group study rooms are available there.

The college has relocated library study carrels to seven areas to create quiet study spaces in interior building alcoves or at the end of halls. Locations are accessible during hours buildings are open. Three Careers Center Building locations are in Room 240, a space near the 2nd floor vending area and the third floor near the Sarbanes Center Room 314. Other sites: Cade Center for Fine Arts 3rd floor overlooking the art gallery, Center for Applied Learning and Technology alcove near Room 119, Florestano Building near Room 119 and Humanities Building ground level near Room 008.

The two group study spaces available weekdays are in Florestano Building Room 120, open 2:30-6 p.m., and Careers Center Building Room 118, open 3:30-7 p.m.

The study spaces will remain in place until the renovation of Truxal Library is complete. The building and its addition will open in August 2012. For information, contact Cindy Steinhoff, director of the library at 410-777-2483 or email cksteinhoff@aacc.edu.
