Overcome math anxiety so you can enroll in or succeed in college mathematics classes at Anne Arundel Community College.
The Mathematics Department is offering free Math Anxiety Workshops this spring so you can explore new approaches to learning math and find what works best for you. Discover how your math past may be impacting you in the present. Recognize and conquer math anxiety, avoidance and procrastination.
The sessions offer tips on selecting study strategies that fit your learning style and new approaches for solving word problems and using formulas. Distinguish between short- and long-term memory to retain what you learn. Learn how to check your mathematics work to minimize careless errors. And, focus on reducing test anxiety so you can demonstrate what you know. Sessions are:
March 5 -- 9-11 a.m. Cade Center for Fine Arts Room 301, AACC Arnold campus
March 9 – 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Glen Burnie Town Center Arundel Center North Room 103, Glen Burnie
March 15 – 10 a.m.-noon AACC at Arundel Mills Room 108, Hanover
March 28 – 2-4 p.m. Cade Center for Fine Arts Room 301, Arnold campus
April 17 – 2-4 p.m. Cade Center for Fine Arts Room 301, Arnold campus
April 23 – 6-8 p.m. Cade Center for Fine Arts Room 301, Arnold campus
