Join local opera lovers in a rare opportunity to see Puccini’s “Il Tritico” performed in an intimate concert setting by the Baltimore Concert Opera through an Anne Arundel Community College noncredit continuing education course on Sunday, May 20.
Journey by chauffeured passenger van from the Arnold campus departing at 12:30 p.m. to the historic Garrett Jacobs Mansion (Engineers Club) in Baltimore Learn about the history of opera in a pre-concert lecture by Ronald Gretz, conductor of the Baltimore Concert Opera Series. Then, attend the concert production of Puccini’s “Il Tritico” in the beautiful, intimate interior of this historic mansion.
Unlike a full opera with sets and costumes, a concert opera allows participants to focus on the artistry of the vocal performers and the emotion. The performance, sung in Italian, has an electronic board that displays the English translation.
Participants return to campus by approximately 6 p.m. Cost of $59 for county residents includes transportation and an admission ticket. The deadline to register for MUC 302 is May 10. Seating is limited. For registration assistance or information call 410-777-2325 or visit www.aacc.edu/music.
