Anne Arundel Community College’s Kids in College division has added several fun camps to keep young campers happily engaged during the week of June 11-15.
Public schools are closing a few days earlier than originally scheduled because the school system did not have as many weather-related closures this year, resulting in an extra week of summer for most school children. The new camps operate Monday through Friday and are for rising first, second, third, fourth and fifth graders.
Camps for rising first-graders include “Soccer Kicks” (KDS 875-302) from 9 a.m. to noon teaching the fundamentals of soccer and “Math Adventures” (YEP 883-301) exploring ways to have fun with numbers from 1-4 p.m. Each costs $135 per camper.
For rising second-and-third-graders, the new camps are “Fizzy Foaming Potions” (YEP 842-302) from 9 a.m. to noon ($108) allowing campers to create potions that fizzle and bubble from ordinary household products and “Summertime Fun” (YEP 804-303) from 1-4 p.m. ($108) at which campers create art, play stickball, perform science magic and work with Legos®.
Rising fourth-and-fifth-graders also can attend “Fizzy Foaming Potions” and “Summertime Fun,” but “Fizzy Foaming Portions” (YEP 842-303) for this older group is from 1-4 p.m. and “Summertime Fun” (YEP 804-302) is in the 9 a.m. to noon time slot.
In addition to these new camps, AACC Kids in College offers a myriad of camps for all ages throughout the summer. For information or to enroll, visit the website, www.aacc.edu/kic.
