Not Too Late to Register for Spring Classes at AACC

Jan. 17, 2013

You still have time to register for spring semester credit classes at Anne Arundel Community College where the first sessions begin Jan. 23 and the WEEKENDYOU program starts Jan. 25.

New this spring are classes offered at North County High School and a return of classes to Meade High School in addition to classes at the Arnold campus, AACC at Arundel Mills, the Glen Burnie Town Center and the new Center for Cyber and Professional Training.

Choose from classes leading to a degree, certificate, letter of recognition, for career exploration or promotion, for personal enrichment or transfer to a four-year school. The college’s emphasis on forging transfer agreements with public and private four-year colleges and universities is making it easier to transfer into baccalaureate programs.

AACC also offers good options for people who need flexibility to continue their education. WEEKENDYOU classes meet on Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays and offer courses in five degree and certificate programs that you can complete entirely on the weekend by enrolling in a mix of weekend and online classes.  An extensive virtual campus offers you a choice of eight online degree programs or more than 31 certificate programs and more than 300 distinct online classes.

The college also offers a convenient tuition payment plan that lets you stretch out payments throughout the semester. Financial aid advisers can help you work out a plan that will fit your needs. Academic advisers are available to help students pick the right courses for their programs and transfer schools.

For those who need child care, the accredited Child Development Center on the Arnold campus is available for ages 3-5 during the day and a drop-in option is available for ages 3-10 on evenings. Preregistration is required at 410-777-2450 or visit the website.

In addition to the 15-week and first eight-week session beginning Jan. 23, a 13-week session begins Feb. 4 and the second eight-week session begins March 25. Registration is under way. For information call 410-777-AACC or visit
