LPN to RN Program

A career in registered nursing offers personal enrichment, satisfaction and a competitive salary. The U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics ranks registered nurses first among health care occupations expected to have fast growth and high earnings through the year 2016.

Graduates who complete the 62-credit program earn an Associate of Science degree and gain eligibility for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). For the past 10 years, our graduates have exceeded national and state pass-rate averages.

National Accreditation Our registered nursing program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).

Statewide Designation The program's statewide designation as a Health Manpower Shortage Program allows some students living in Maryland who are enrolled in this program of study on the first day of the term to be eligible for in-county tuition rates.  However, please note that Anne Arundel County residents are given first priority.

State-of-the-Art Laboratories Our students practice simulated nursing skills in a college lab with state-of-the-art equipment.

Transfer Our graduates may transfer up to 60 credits toward a four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at state institutions. An additional 30 credits will be awarded for an unencumbered RN license. Several Maryland private colleges and state universities offer RN-to-BSN programs.

Career Opportunities AACC nursing graduates work in Baltimore-Washington area hospitals including the shock trauma unit, home health agencies, long-term care and rehabilitation facilities and with health departments as school nurses. Graduates who live outside the region readily find employment. Locally, starting salaries for new graduates average more than $47,000 per year for full-time employment.
