Navigating through offerings can be overwhelming, so here is a snapshot of what AACC offers. Consult with an adviser to choose the appropriate program for you.

DEGREES

  • AACC offers close to 50 associate degree programs. These degrees: require at least 60 credit hours to complete and can be earned, on average, in two years when attending fulltime.
  • Transfer programs include Associate of Arts (A.A.), Associate of Science (A.S.), Associate of Arts in Teaching (A.A.T.) and Associate of Science in Engineering (A.S.E.) degrees and prepare you to transfer into bachelor-degree programs at Maryland public colleges and universities.
  • Career programs lead to an Associate of Applied Science (A.A. S) degree and prepare you for immediate employment or train you in a specific skill.
  • AACC has agreements with Maryland and out-of-state public and private colleges and universities that ease transfer into specific bachelor degree programs.

CERTIFICATES AND CERTIFICATIONS
AACC offers credit certificates, professional certifications, continuing education certificates and letters of recognition that can help you obtain a better job, advance your career or show employers that you’ve mastered a valuable skill.

Credit certificates

  • Require at least 12 credit hours
  • Can be earned in 12-18 months

Continuing Education Certificates

  • Are noncredit
  • Are created and awarded by AACC
  • Show employers that you have mastered an area of study
  • Do not transfer into credit studies

Professional Certifications

  • Are industry-recognized
  • Are awarded often in partnership with trade associations or businesses
  • Can be offered as one course or  included as part of credit and noncredit continuing education programs

Letters of Recognition

  • Require fewer than 12 credits
  • Can be completed in less than a year

COURSES
Choose credit or noncredit courses that fit your need:

  • Take credit courses to transfer to your four-year school;
  • Enroll in credit or noncredit courses to help you advance at your job or prepare for a new one;
  • Sign up for courses to acquire a new skill or just for fun.

Credit classes count toward an associate degree, certificate or letter of recognition. Noncredit courses do not earn credit, but some noncredit courses offer continuing education units (CEUs).
