1. What is my first step?

2. What is the average starting salary for a certified pharmacy technician?
According to the wage data from the Occupational Employment Statistics (OES), the latest wage and salary data for pharmacy technicians are as follows:
General medical and surgical hospitals: $13.86/hr -- $26,611/yr
Grocery stores: $12.78/hr -- $24, 531/yr
Pharmacies and drug stores: $11.50/hr -- $21,504/yr
Other (Managed care pharmacies): $16.00/hr -- $30,720/yr
3. Do employers recognize certified pharmacy technicians with higher pay rates?
54 percent of those surveyed answered "yes."
4. Where do students receive clinical training?
Training is in hospital pharmacies, home health pharmacies and community (retail) chain pharmacies.
