"The Summer Bridge Program prepared me to be successful."
Tyisha learned about the AACC Summer Bridge Program from a teacher while she attended Glen Burnie High School. She glows when she decribes how the relationships she formed with professors in the summer of 2002, helped her gain confidence in her ability to tackle college-level work. In addition to the excellent academic footing she gained last summer, she formed lasting friendships with other students in the program.
“I’ve been telling my cousins about the program and strongly encouraging them to attend AACC, too. I’m an ambassador for the college.”
Tyisha’s family members are not strangers to AACC. Her twin sister also attends and is studying Spanish. Tyisha is a business management major and hopes to go on to Howard University or Villa Julie College. Eventually she’d like to earn a master’s degree.
Her favorite classes were a philosophy class taught by Kenneth Moore and an accounting class taught by Beverly Beatty.
