Sergeant/Crime Prevention Specialist
Nancy Kutz joined the College on September 23, 1996. She began her career in public safety working for the Anne Arundel County Sheriff’s Department as a dispatcher for three years and as a Traffic Enforcement Officer for fifteen years with the Annapolis City Police Department. She started at the Anne Arundel Community College Department of Public Safety as a public safety officer. In 2004, after serving eight years in patrol, she was promoted to Corporal and the title of Crime Prevention Specialist. As the Crime Prevention Specialist, she was charged with the anticipation, recognition and appraisal of a crime risk on campus and the initiation of some action to remove or reduce it. Nancy was promoted to Sergeant in 2008 and placed in charge of the Department’s Rape Aggression Defense training and the Child Safety Seat Inspections programs in addition to her crime prevention duties.
Nancy received specialized training in and is certified as a Professional Campus Crime Prevention Specialist, RAD advanced instructor, and Child Safety Seat Technician.
