The first Community Emergency Response Team training will be held at AACC. This training will teach you the basics in:
- first aid
- light search and rescue
- fire suppression
- emergency preparedness
- disaster response
At the end of the classroom training, there will be an exercise to allow you to use the skills you have learned. You will also receive a Cert bag containing emergency response supplies which is yours to keep. You also receive a FEMA certificate for finishing the training. This is a great opportunity to learn how to safely help others during an emergency and to assist the AACC Public Safety and Police Department in the event of a disaster on campus.
The training will be held on November 9th and 10th from 3pm to 9pm. On November 12th at 9am (Saturday) we will have the exercise on campus where you will be able to test your knowledge in a mock disaster simulation. This usually only takes a few hours.
If you can attend, please email Chief Sean Kapfhammer at Srkapfhammer@AACC.edu This list is important because supplies have to be purchased in advance. If you respond to this email, you will be provided with additional information on the meeting location on campus closer to November.
For more information on the program, please take a look at the FEMA website listed below.
