Crime Prevention / Safety Programs
The Department of Public Safety offers a variety of Crime Prevention and Safety programs to students, employees and the college community.
R.A.D. The Rape Aggression Defense System is a program of realistic self-defense tactics for women. This comprehensive course taught by our certified instructors begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and avoidance, and progresses on to the basics of hands-on defense training.
radKids is a program taught by our certified instructors to educate both children and parents about personal safety and providing the tools, knowledge and power to recognize and avoid danger and to resist and protect themselves from physical abuse.
Public Safety offers whistles to call for help if needed, and also to warn others of a potentially dangerous situation. They are to be used in conjunction with other safety and prevention techniques.
