Radiologic Technology Prerequisites

The following courses are required for admission to the Radiologic Technology Program.

PREREQUISITES

BIO-231-232* - Human Biology 1, 2 (8)
or
BIO-101, BIO-233-234 - Fundamentals of Biology, Anatomy and Physiology 1, 2 (12)
This course sequence is recommended for students who are thinking of continuing their education by transferring to a four-year university to obtain a baccalaureate degree.

MAT-131** - College Algebra (3)

*Note: Completion of two or three of the following prerequisite courses with a grade of C or better: BIO-231-232 (or BIO-233-234) and MAT-131. BIO-101 is the prerequisite for BIO-233-234. The third prerequisite course must be completed with a grade of C or better by the end of the summer term prior to the beginning of RAD-101. Priority consideration for admission to the radiologic technology course sequence will be given to students who have completed all three prerequisite courses.

**MAT-121 - Algebra and Trigonometry, MAT-151 - Introduction Analysis (Pre-Calculus), and
MAT-191 - Calculus and Analytic Geometry 1 will satisfy the MAT-131 math requirement.

GENERAL EDUCATION (required)

SOC-111 - Introduction to Sociology (3)
ENG-111+ - Composition and Introduction to Literature 1 (3)
ENG-112+ - Composition and Introduction to Literature 2 (3)
Arts and Humanities elective (3)

+Successful completion of ENG-121 fully satisfies the college English composition general education requirement. Students who take ENG-121 and not ENG-111-112 or ENG-115-116 may need to take an additional elective course to ensure they complete a minimum of 60 credits which are required for the award of an associate degree. These credit hours must be chosen with the approval of the department chair or program coordinator. 

Note: Completion of the Radiologic Technology program satisfies the College's Health/Fitness/Wellness requirement, diversity requirement and computer competency requirement.
