Anne Arundel Community College is committed to providing programs and services for students who are the first in their families to attend college, who need to build a foundation for success in college-level classes, and/or who need to learn to use college and community resources to meet their academic goals.
The purpose of the Student Achievement and Success Program (SASP) at Anne Arundel Community College is to increase the academic success, graduation and transfer of student populations traditionally experiencing the greatest challenges in meeting their academic goals - minority, low income, under-prepared, and/or first generation degree students. SASP will provide individualized support, offer resources and incentives specifically designed to encourage participants to achieve academic success, graduate and transfer to a four-year school.

Services will include individualized educational plans by advisors, academic monitoring, mentoring, scholarships to eligible students, and referrals to other college services. Program participants are to show their motivation to complete their educational goals by attending classes regularly and punctually; seeking help when experiencing difficulty; and following through on referrals and recommendations made by college and SASP staff.
