Basic Pottery Wheel

Basic Pottery Wheel Introduces the art of wheel-thrown pottery. Work in a ceramics studio, use stoneware clay and electric wheels to practice centering, shaping and forming basic shapes such as bowls, cylinders and plates. Study properties of clay, terminology, basic design and decorative glazing techniques. Enrollment limit: 5. $200+ includes $160 fee. Note: Bring a basic pottery tool kit, small bucket and sponge to class. Lab fee includes first 20 pounds of clay and one firing. Student responsible for additional clay and firings. Wear old work clothes, apron and closed-toe shoes.
