Dr. John Glass

I graduated from the University of North Texas with a Ph.D. in Sociology in 1995 and immediately continued work that I had been doing in the applied, human services sector. After ten years of working in applied settings, I will start teaching sociology full-time in the fall of 2005. In applied settings, I have worked as an organizational consultant, grant-writer, trainer, substance abuse counselor, Director of Programs and Training for a substance abuse facility, and Director of Program Evaluation for an NPO in the field of domestic violence. In all of these capacities, I have brought a sociological perspective to the work. I am currently Secretary of the Society for Applied Sociology, a member of the American Sociological Association, past-chair of the Violence Against Women committee of the Dallas County Domestic Violence Awareness Coalition, and member of the E-Learning Guild.
