Dr. Kathy Stolley

Dr. Stolley is Assistant Professor of Sociology at Virginia Wesleyan College in Norfolk, VA. 

In her previous position, she managed a group decision support facility (an electronic meeting room that hosts special collaborative software) housed in the headquarters of a multi-national organization.  By applying sociological concepts such as group dynamics and an understanding of culture, her work helped facilitate decision-making.  

Dr. Stolley’s publications include "The Basics of Sociology" (Greenwood,
2005), which has a number of applied career ideas for sociologists and a chapter on preparing for careers in sociology.
