Frequently Asked Questions

Please submit any questions you may have to the Student Life office so we can better serve you.

Q. What does the Student Life office do?

A. The Student Life office is the home of student clubs and organizations on campus. In addition to working with groups to plan events for the college, we also develop leadership programs and opportunities for students throughout the year. We offer free passes to the aquarium and Maryland Science Center and discounted tickets to Six Flags, the Renaissance Festival and Medieval Times.

Q. How do I start a new club?

A. Students who wish to start a new club must complete a “Petition to Form a New Club” available in the Student Life office. Included on the form are the name and purpose of the club, a minimum of ten signatures of current credit students, and a faculty advisor. A club constitution must be submitted to the student association for approval along with petition.

Q. How do I reserve free tickets for the Aquarium/Md Science Center?

A. Current students, faculty and staff are eligible. Come to the Student Life Office in SUN 202 and reserve a date on the calendar for your trip. We have two tickets to the National Aquarium and the Maryland Science Center which can be picked up at 9 a.m. the morning you have reserved them. They are due back no later than 9 a.m. the following day.

Q. Does the Student Life office sponsor any events?

A. We work with the Campus Activities Board, the Student Association, and other groups to bring events to campus. We host the Student Activities Fair at the beginning of each semester in September and February as well as the Earth Day Celebration and Honors and Award ceremony in the spring.
