Meet the Student Representatives

Student representatives are elected by students who attend Student Association meetings. They are the eyes and ears of the organization. Their primary purpose is to listen to students' ideas and concerns and bring them back to the group so that they can be resolved. Student representatives are elected in the fall and serve until graduation in the spring.

The Board

Fatima Bhatti, Student Representative - I am currently in the transfer program at AACC and I plan on majoring in Business Administration and go into the banking field in the near future hopefully. Besides that, being involved in SA has been a great experience for me. Being a student representative has also taught me how to get things done the way they have to be done. It also helps you find your weak point and makes you build up to make it stronger.

Jesse Brogan, Student Representative - I am currently considering a major in biology-plant science. I have gotten involved at AACC one step at a time. From the classes I took, I learned about the Biology and Environmental Science club. From there, I got involved in the Student Association. I am also working part time this fall for the AACC Environmental Center. Though I have a bachelor's degree in Chemistry, I am currently taking classes for background in biology toward an eventual master's degree in agriculture.

Shadab Huda - I am currently in the transfer program and am a business major. I am very friendly and nice and wanted to get somewhat involved in college. I thought joining SA would be great and it turned out to be a very fun experience and has made college very much more enjoyable. I have made many awesome friends and we have get a cool place to hang out next to our advisor's office!

Egypt Kosloski - I am currently pursuing an AA degree in General Studies. I plan to transfer to a 4-year institution in Spring 2010 where I hope to major in Physics. I joined SA because I enjoy being involved in college activities because it is the most effective and enjoyable way of enriching your college experience.

Melissa Nigro - I am a Business Administration major and this is my first year at AACC. Along with being a student representative for SA, I am also treasurer of the Muslim Student Association and I am currently training to be an EMT at the Bowie Volunteer Fire House.

Sara Palmer - I am a Law Enforcement Major and hope to transfer and get me B.A. in Criminal Justice. I joined SA because I wanted to get more out of my college experience at one of the best community colleges there is. I came in very guarded and quiet but now have become very good friends with everyone in the group. It's the perfect balance of fun times and leadership. I hope to use the skills I learn in SA in whatever I do in the future.

Sarah Storch - I am in the Transfer Studies degree program at AACC and would like to get a bachelor's in Political Science with a concentration in international affairs and hopefully enter law school after graduation. I joined SA because I wanted to be more active in student events on campus and wanted to also get to know more people. There are a diversity of opinions on issues so it's great listening to all the feedback but I most enjoy the sense of genuine camaraderie between people.

Lucas Umberger - I am a  business management major. I like being an SA representative because of the people and I believe we are making AACC a better place for the students. Other than SA I like to eat, play video games and hang out with friends.

Jennifer Wells - I am a pre-Dental Hygiene major in pursuit of my AS degree here at AACC and plan on transferring to the dental school at UMB. I eventually plan on having at least a bachelor's degree ( maybe try for a master's). I originally started attending SA meetings because I didn't do any extracurricular activities in high school and wanted to change up my habits, and also because it would look good on my transcript when it's time for me to transfer. But I surprised myself by really enjoying what the SA is about and meeting some really amazing people along the way. I hope being a part of SA helps me to grow more as a person.
