American Studies encourages and assists students in developing an understanding and appreciation of the social structures and cultural values of the American experience from a variety of historical and contemporary perspectives. The option makes use of materials and methodologies from various disciplines in the development of multidisciplinary approaches to the study of American society and culture. The option will readily transfer to most four-year colleges and universities.
