Majors at AACC

Communication Arts Technology
Associate of Applied Sciences Degree
AACC Department Telephone: 410-777-7228

The communication arts technology program is designed to give students the latest techniques used in the fields of photography, graphic arts, multimedia and video. Students learn both manual and computer skills which prepare them for entry-level positions and further study.

As an important secondary function, the program recognizes the desire of many students to obtain a bachelor’s degree. An articulation agreement exists with the University of Baltimore. Some out-of-state schools also accept the majority of credits from the communication arts technology program. Information on transfer is available in the Counseling, Advising and Retention Services Center and at the Communication Arts Technology office. The final authority for accepting credit lies with the four-year institution. Students who wish to major in radio, television and film at the University of Maryland College Park are advised not to major in Communication Arts Technology and should see an adviser at Counseling, Advising and Retention Services for complete information.
