SENIOR CITIZEN TUITION
The tuition portion only of credit classes for Maryland residents age 60 and older by the first day of the credit term is automatically waived. SSI and SSDI students under age 60 by the first day of the credit term, may be able to have the tuition portion manually waived by submitting an originally signed and stamped Social Security Certification Form for Tuition Waiver.PDF The form is kept on file in the Cashier's Office for year and must be renewed annually. Please see new information regarding the SSI/SSDI waiver process that was effective as of October 1, 2011. The new information can be viewed by clicking on the SSI/SSDI New Rules Information page under Important Links to the right.
If a student is eligible to use SSI/SSDI waiver for their credit term classes, payment of or toward the related fees may be required before the waiver can be processed. Contact Cashier's Office for details, 410-777-2236.
There are some noncredit classes that are tuition waived for seniors. Those not senior waived are designated by a daggar symbol next to the cost of the class. For these classes with the dagger the student must pay the full charge for the class. As per the new rules regarding the use of the SSI/SSDI Tuition Waivers, the Waiver can no longer be used for non-credit classes. Please contact Cashier's Office for details, 410-777-2236.
