Visual Arts Facilities & Resources

The Visual Arts Department is primarily housed in the CADE Center for Fine Arts on the West side of campus and shares the building with Theatre, Dance and Music. The main office is located in CADE 216. The building boasts multiple computer labs, studios, photography lab, darkroom and a wireless internet connection.

Ceramics and Sculpture are housed in the new Careers building and Plant building respectively, on the East Side of campus. Visual Arts courses have also expanded in 2010 to our Arundel Mills campus, expanding our reach in the county.

Our facilities available to students are extensive and are designed to encourage and fully support the creative endeavors of students.

CADE Computer Labs & Video Equipment Cage

VIDEO EQUIPMENT CAGE
The Video & Digital Photo Equipment Cage is located in CADE 213.

OPEN COMPUTER LAB HOURS - SPRING 2012
Each semester, the Visual Arts Department announces Open Lab Times in our computer labs. Registered students can take advantage of these times to work on their projects, homework and portfolio.

AMIL 018 OPEN LAB NOTE
On Monday, there are open lab seats available in AMIL 018 from 5:35 - 9:45 p.m. during the Drafting class. Though the time of the course is from 5:35 - 9:45 p.m., please note that the open lab time ends when the class ends, especially if class ends earlier than the advertised time. Thank you for your understanding.

TLC & COMPUTER COMMONS
Students are welcome to use the 5 Graphic Design PCs in the TLC on the Arnold campus. These PCs have the same exact software as the PCs in all CADE labs. The TLC is located in ANNEX A, room 105 for the duration of the Truxal Library renovation project. Read more about this move. Campus maps and Annex A floor plans can also be found at this link.

There are also 2 PCs in the Computer Commons, which is located in the Careers building, room 264. These PCs have the Adobe Master Collection software installed for student use. Students can ask the Computer Commons staff about using the Macs in this lab as well.

LAB SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE
Students can now view a list of software and hardware available for use in the above labs as well as the TLC (Annex A while the library is being renovated) and the Computer Commons (2 machines; Careers Center room 264).
