Assistant Professor and Department Chair, Humanities and Visual Arts
In the summer of 2010, Matt was awarded the Prince Street Gallery’s solo exhibition award and it marked his first solo exhibition in Manhattan. During the same summer Matt spent five weeks painting in the Brittany region of France as part of the Klots Residency program, awarded and facilitated by the Maryland Institute College of Art.
In 2009 Matt’s work was exhibited in Seoul, Korea at Myung Women’s University. He was awarded an Individual Artist Award from the Maryland State Arts Council in 2008 and was awarded the $10,000 Best in Show prize at the Bethesda Painting Awards in 2007.
Matt currently lives in Baltimore, Maryland with his wife and two sons where he splits time between his studio, his teaching, and his role as chair of the Visual Arts & Humanities at Anne Arundel Community College.
