In the summer of 2010, Matt was awarded the Prince Street Gallery’s solo exhibition award and it marked his first solo exhibition in Manhattan. During the same summer Matt spent five weeks painting in the Brittany region of France as part of the Klots Residency program, awarded and facilitated by the Maryland Institute College of Art.
In 2009 Matt’s work was exhibited in Seoul, Korea at Myung Women’s University. He was twice awarded an Individual Artist Award from the Maryland State Arts Council (2008 & 2012) and was awarded the $10,000 Best in Show prize at the Bethesda Painting Awards in 2007.
Matt currently lives in Baltimore, Maryland with his wife, daughter and two sons where he splits time between his studio and his teaching duties in the Visual Arts & Humanities Department at Anne Arundel Community College.
