AACC Virtual Writing Center (Online Tutoring)

Requirements to Participate
  1. computer
  2. internet connection
  3. speakers and microphone
  4. electronic version of assignment sheet
  5. electronic version of essay draft
Tutoring Options
  1. individual appointment with a writing tutor
  2. individual appointment with a research librarian
  3. drop-in Open Discovery session (research)
ATTENTION:

The Virtual Writing Center is a separate service from the walk-in tutoring at face-to-face Writing Center locations.

  1. appointments cannot be scheduled for face-to-face Writing Center sessions 
  2. penalties will apply for students who schedule but fail to attend appointments with the Virtual Writing Center

The Virtual Writing Center offers the same high quality tutoring experience as our face-to-face Writing Center locations in a synchronous, voice-interactive online environment.  It is open to all enrolled AACC students and can be accessed using Canvas and Blackboard Collaborate.

One Platform, Two Types of Help
  1. Writing Tutoring (papers in any course):  AACC English faculty members will help with thesis, organization, style, or grammar
  2. Research Assistance (research assignments): Truxal Reference Librarians will help with finding, evaluating, and citing sources (MLA or APA form).


Accessing the Virtual Writing Center

For more information about the Virtual Writing Center or to schedule an appointment for an online tutoring session, you will need to enroll in the Virtual Writing Center in Canvas.
