As a public institution, Anne Arundel Community College serves the community at large to the greatest extent possible within its resources, including making its facilities readily available for community use.  However, since the primary purpose of college facilities is to accommodate programs in support of the college's mission, use of college facilities by the community, and the cost for same, shall be at the sole discretion of the college to ensure that such use does not interfere with regular educational programs or other college activities.

Approval of the use of college facilities by external entities shall not adversely impact or interfere with the best interests of the college in any manner, ordinarily should include a charge for event-related costs and rental fees, and should not be interpreted as an endorsement of the user or its purpose. No request to use a college facility to conduct a for-profit commercial enterprise or transaction shall be approved unless the activity is determined, within the sole discretion of the college, to be required for the operation of the college or to provide a direct benefit to the college community. Use of college facilities, event-related costs, and rental fees, if any, shall be subject to the procedures promulgated to implement this policy.

The board of trustees hereby authorizes the president or his/her designee to develop and establish appropriate procedures to implement and enforce this policy.
