The Department of Health, Fitness and Exercise Studies and the Department of World Languages are offering a travel study experience to the Dominican Republic from June 1-8, 2020. From Santo Domingo to Rancho Arriba, this trip to the Dominican Republic is a great opportunity for you to get out of your own backyard and experience the Dominican Republic through a unique lens of health and wellness. The trip will offer exciting service-learning experiences with an option to earn credit in HEA 111. If you have any interest in the health professions or health and wellness fields, this trip could be the perfect opportunity for you. Speaking Spanish is not a requirement, but there will be plenty of opportunities to fine tune your Spanish speaking skills.
You will also have the opportunity to spend the day at the beach, enjoy different foods, and explore the urban and rural cultures within the Dominican Republic. Some of the other experiences included in this trip are:

All participants must have a valid and current passport (required at least 60 days prior to departure). Trip includes multiple walking tours, climbing steps/hills and walking on uneven surfaces. Participants with mobility issues should carefully consider signing up for the trip.
