HEA-150 Advanced First Aid, CPR & AED

Examine the appropriate intervention skills to respond to emergencies such as recognition, access, assessment and management until more advanced personnel arrives. Identify and successfully demonstrate the components of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automatic defibrillator device (AED) and advanced first aid by a first responder. Successful completion of the course prepares students to take the Red Cross certification exam. Lab fee $35. Note: Credit is not given for both EMT 104 and HEA 150.

Section Info: This is a hybrid section with mandatory in-person on-campus meetings Wednesdays from 11a-12:15p and an online component. Faculty members will notify students of the required schedule for the on-campus testing by the first day of the semester. The skills testing will be scheduled on campus in accordance with the sync day/time of the course section. This communication will occur on the syllabus, in Canvas, and through MyAACC email and may be subject to change.
