A Little More

For Dina Rady, teaching economics at AACC gives her the opportunity to “facilitate the growth of students as they progress toward greater self-efficiency in their career.” She sees teaching as both a challenge and a responsibility.

“I strive to provide the most effective learning experience to students who come to rely on my expertise and guidance, giving each student the help and support needed for success in both academic and social life,” she said.

Her hard work in the classroom pays off. Her students describe her as someone who puts in an enormous effort in and out of the classroom and who is devoted and fully accessible to her students. Rady, who joined the college in fall 2020, has been recognized for her high-quality teaching with awards and nominations in her 25-plus years in the classroom.

Rady’s expertise is in development economics, which focuses on the economic concerns that affect developing countries. She has served as session chair and keynote speaker at national and international conferences at major institutions, including Harvard University.

Outside the classroom, Rady has an interest in piano and ballet, which she practiced until she graduated from college. She also enjoys playing table tennis, reading and traveling to new places.

“It is important to remain knowledgeable and professional while enjoying life as much as possible,” she said.
