I understand that when I register for any class at Anne Arundel Community College or receive any service from Anne Arundel Community College I incur a legal obligation and accept full responsibility to pay, in a timely manner, all tuition, fees and other associated costs and charges assessed as a result of my registration and/or receipt of services. I further understand and agree that my registration and acceptance of these terms constitutes a legally enforceable Promise to Pay Agreement.
I further understand and agree that if I drop or withdraw from some or all of the classes for which I register, I will be responsible for and obligated to pay all or a portion of the tuition and fees in accordance with and subject to the published tuition refund schedule which is incorporated herein and made a part of my Promise to Pay Agreement.
I understand and agree that if I fail to pay my student account bill or any money due and owing Anne Arundel Community College by the scheduled due date, Anne Arundel Community College shall be authorized to place a financial hold on my student account which I understand means I shall be prevented from registering for future classes or receiving my diploma until all sums due and owing are paid in full.
I understand and agree that if I fail to pay my student account bill or any money due and owing Anne Arundel Community College by the scheduled due date, Anne Arundel Community College is authorized to assess a late payment fee of $10 for each payment made after the scheduled due date.
I understand and agree that if I fail to pay my student account bill or any money due and owing Anne Arundel Community College by the scheduled due date or fail to make acceptable payment arrangements in writing, Anne Arundel Community College is authorized to refer my delinquent account to a collection agency. Upon such referral I shall be responsible to pay the collection agency fee together with all costs and expenses, including reasonable attorney’s fees, necessary for the collection of my delinquent account. I understand that these charges are in addition to the delinquent sums owed, and the fact that my account is delinquent may be reported to one or more of the national credit bureaus.
If a payment made to my student account is returned by the bank for any reason, I agree to repay the original amount of the payment plus a returned payment fee of $25. I understand that multiple returned payments and/or failure to comply with the terms of any payment plan or agreement I sign with Anne Arundel Community College may result in me being prohibited from attending my classes and/or suspension of my eligibility to register for future classes at Anne Arundel Community College.
I understand that administrative, clerical or technical billing errors do not absolve me of my financial responsibility to pay the correct amount of tuition, fees and other associated financial obligations assessed as a result of my registration at Anne Arundel Community College.
I agree to provide my Social Security number (SSN) or taxpayer identification number (TIN) to Anne Arundel Community College upon request as required by Internal Revenue Service (IRS) regulations for Form 1098-T reporting purposes. If I fail to provide my SSN or TIN to Anne Arundel Community College, I agree to pay any and all IRS fines assessed as a result of my missing SSN/TIN.
I understand that Anne Arundel Community College uses email as an official method of communication with students. I agree to be responsible for reading all emails sent to me and shall be held responsible for the knowledge contained therein whether I read them or not.
I authorize and hereby provide my consent to Anne Arundel Community College, its employees, agents and/or contractors to contact me regarding my delinquent student account(s)/loan(s), any other debt I owe to Anne Arundel Community College, or to provide general information from Anne Arundel Community College, at my current and future phone number(s) including cellular, email address(es) or wireless device(s). I also authorize and consent to Anne Arundel Community College its employees, agents and/or contractors using automated telephone equipment, artificial or prerecorded voice or text messages, and personal calls and emails to contact me. However, I may withdraw this authorization and consent to the aforementioned method of contact by submitting a written request to withdraw my authorization and consent to the Records and Registration office.
I understand and agree to be responsible for keeping Anne Arundel Community College records up to date with my current physical addresses, email addresses and phone numbers in accordance with the procedures set forth which are incorporated herein and a part of this agreement.
I understand that Anne Arundel Community College is bound by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) which prohibits Anne Arundel Community College from releasing any information from my education record without my written permission. Therefore, I understand that if I want Anne Arundel Community College to share information from my education record with someone else, I must provide written permission by following the procedure outlined. I further understand that I may revoke my permission at any time as instructed in the same procedure.
This agreement supersedes all prior understandings, representations, negotiations and/or correspondence between myself and Anne Arundel Community College relating to the matters set forth herein and constitutes the entire agreement between us and can only be modified in writing signed and dated by both myself and Anne Arundel Community College.
