HCAT Westin Kitchen Staff

The Hotel, Culinary Arts and Tourism Institute is offering a professional cake decorating program.  

During this 15-week program, students will practice professional standards of cake production, developing and enhancing cake decorating skills. Topics include mixing methods and cake production, with emphasis placed on the preparation of quality baked cakes, wedding cakes, special occasion cakes, butter creams and various decoration techniques. 


What courses will I take?

This continuing education certificate program is designed for individuals pursuing career training in professional kitchen skills. Students will receive instructions on cake production and decorating techniques. Two classes are required for completion:

HCT-333 Certification in Sanitation

HCT-363 Professional Cake Decorating

Note: Completion of HCT-333 is a prerequisite/corequisite for HCT-363.


What will it cost?

The program costs $1,096 for Anne Arundel County residents, including tuition and fees.

Students must purchase an HCAT uniform.

What credentials can I earn?
