The spring 2010 American College Health Association-National College Health Assessment found that “27.4 percent of students reported that stress adversely affected their academic performance in the past 12 months.” The Health & Wellness Center understands the impact of stress on both academic performance and physical health and offers 20- to 30-minute appointments in the StressLess Room, a private, softly-lit room that features a human touch technology massage chair, relaxation DVDs and CDs, stress management literature and more.

The Health & Wellness Center can help you make it through the day with free, over-the-counter medications like acetaminophen, ibuprofen, allergy, cough, cold and anti-diarrheal medications.
Ready to quit?
We're a smoke-free campus, so now is as good a time as any to stop. The Health & Wellness Center nurses provide free services for quitting smoking, including nicotine patches, lozenges and gum!
No health insurance?
You have options! We can help you find resources for everything from getting insured, to finding a physician, to free and low-cost care. International students have options, too! Stop by to pick up health information literature or get referrals.
Are you doing it?
HIV testing should be a part of everyone’s regular health routine along with safer sex practices and clear consent about what you want to do and with whom, every time. the Health & Wellness Center works with local agencies and organizations to offer sexual health services and information. Free literature, condoms and lube are available inside and outside of the Health & Wellness Center. The Anne Arundel County Department of Health provides HIV testing and a nine-strain HPV vaccine weekly during the fall and spring terms, and two to three times per term at AACC at Arundel Mills. HIV testing appointments are preferred but not required.
Everybody's gotta go...
And sometimes you just need a little privacy! The Health & Wellness Center has a private, single-occupant restroom available to anyone on campus. Just stop in Student Union Room 120.

Don't worry. Let our nurses treat your cuts, burns and splinters as well as provide you with self-care information to manage minor injuries and illnesses.
Did you know?
The Health & Wellness Center nurses can check your blood pressure. According to healthfinder.gov, one in three Americans has high blood pressure. Get your blood pressure checked regularly starting at age 18. You can also get your height, weight and waist measurement.
Are you a nursing mother?
For your comfort, the Health and Wellness Center offers a private Lactation Room with locking doors, chairs and a desk or small table.
Anne Arundel Community College recognizes the individualized needs of students in recovery and those seeking recovery. The Substance Abuse Education Office, provides prevention, education, support and resources, for students and employees who are facing alcohol or drug related concerns.
The Collegiate Recovery Center (CRC), located in Student Union Room 208B, is staffed by a peer support specialist who is available to inspire and encourage academic and social fulfillment.
