Section Info: OMalley Senior Center | Clothing: Design, Sew and Sell-Advanced Level | This advanced class is designed for independent sewers. Students should be comfortable working creatively with minimal assistance, mastering pattern reading and hacking, and tackling skill-building projects. Lessons will cover piping, invisible zippers, finishing techniques, working with slippery fabrics, and marketing finished products. Prerequisite: Students must have successfully completed BNS-901 Clothing 1: Design, Sew, and Sell or BNS-911 Clothing: Design, Sew, and Sell-Intermediate Level, or have instructor permission.

Students are encouraged to continue exploring wax, oil, watercolor, pastel and other types of colored pencil combined with various drawing and painting media such as pen and ink, markers, watercolor, acrylics and other mixed media techniques for enhanced and varied effects. Demos and critiques guide you through personal or instructor-provided subjects and invite bold experiments in pen, ink, collage, and mixed media. CRE-913 SSAC-Drawing and Painting

Section Info: Severn Senior Center | Drawing and Painting | Participants will complete several art projects of their own choosing, such as still life, portrait, and landscape, in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. No previous art experience is required. Drawing basics such as line, value, light and shadow, linear perspective, and portrait proportions will be covered using pencil, eraser and drawing paper. Color basics such as primary, secondary, tertiary, complementary, and neutral colors, tint, tone, and shade will be covered using acrylic paint and oil pastel on drawing paper.
