An orientation that includes safety procedures is given by the instructor before the class starts. The instructor will provide a supply list for the students.

Section Info: Online | Road to Resiliency (Mat and Chair Yoga) | Our trauma-informed yoga class helps ease pain caused by emotional, mental, or physical trauma, which the body remembers even if we don't. New research shows how trauma impacts us and what we can do with that experience. Benefits include strengthening the vagus nerve, creating new neural pathways, improving self-awareness, self-care, and self-love. The class also helps manage stress and pain. Students are encouraged to bring a notebook and pen for journaling activities. Section Info: Brooklyn Park Senior Center | Weight Training for Seniors | Begins with a simple joint warm up. Basic exercises using weights will be taught with an emphasis on proper form and alignment and progressions to build muscle endurance as well as strength. Each character expresses a moment through balance, proportion, and rhythm. Strokes follow a specific order, with even spacing and consistent sizing. The simplicity and meditative quality stem from Zen Buddhism and Taoism. Section Info: South County | Multimedia Drawing Studio Practice | Develop your artistic skills, personal style and understanding of color theory, composition, creation of depth, texture and historical styles of art covered in the introductory Colored Pencil Drawing course. Students are encouraged to continue exploring wax, oil, watercolor, pastel and other types of colored pencil combined with various drawing and painting media such as pen and ink, markers, watercolor, acrylics and other mixed media techniques for enhanced and varied effects. Intermediate to advanced students are welcome.
