Section Info: Online | Music Masterpiece: Of thee I sing | No class November 26 |In recognition of the achievements of Americas 250th anniversary, it is fitting that we trace the history of music in America: the music of the early colonists, the mountaineers, cowboys, Native Americans, Black Americans, the spirituals, camp meeting songs, band music, ragtime, musical comedy, and the European influence. It also embraces work songs, city songs, vaudeville, jazz, hymns, patriotic songs (Revolutionary War, Civil War, WW I), and minstrel show tunes.| Note: Attendance in online class sessions on Thursdays from 1:00-3:00 p.m. is mandatory for section 902.
