Students will receive help with designs, produce beautiful creations and be given individual guidance to reach personal goals. Discuss opportunities for marketing and sale of completed projects.

Section Info: Arnold Senior Center | Colored Pencil | Discover the luminous beauty and colorful effects possible using colored pencils, a non-toxic, highly portable medium ideal for travelers. Enhance your artistic expression by learning application techniques and tools for bringing a picture of life. Class will review the basics of art design and color theory before advancing through the fundamental essentials. Art venues will be identified, and artwork salability and marketing opportunities will be discussed. Supplies will be discussed in the first class.

CRE-912 ASRC-Greeting Card Design

Section Info: Arnold Senior Center | Greeting Card Design | Students will discover the Art of Greeting Card Design through history and present-day creations. Includes hands on design techniques, style and subject matter, creative writing, marketing, and advertising information. Students will identify art venues and determine sales potential.

Learn basic strokes such as flat, U, daisy, bud, teardrop, petal, shell, and leaf strokes while discussing materials and selling finished projects. Advanced and beginner students are welcome. Class is designed to be a relaxing and fun exploration of painting and art! Please come to the first session to see examples of painted elements and discuss supplies. Acrylic paints and brushes are required for this class. All nature elements will be provided by the instructor.

Section Info: Severn Senior Center | Chinese Brush Painting | Learn fundamental Chinese calligraphy and brush techniques to paint orchid, bamboo, plum blossom, and chrysanthemum in the sumi-e tradition. Students experiment with ink, color, and brushwork while exploring the mind body connection and artistic expression. Suitable for beginners or those improving skills; art venues and sales potential are also discussed.

CRE-913 SSAC-Drawing and Painting

Section Info: Severn Senior Center | Drawing and Painting | Participants will complete several art projects of their own choosing, such as still life, portrait, and landscape, in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. No previous art experience is required. Drawing basics such as line, value, light and shadow, linear perspective, and portrait proportions will be covered using pencil, eraser and drawing paper. Color basics such as primary, secondary, tertiary, complementary, and neutral colors, tint, tone, and shade will be covered using acrylic paint and oil pastel on drawing paper.

HTH-925 ONLN-Strength & Stretch

Section Info: Online | Strength and Stretch | This class is an exercise program designed for strength, flexibility, and balance. Students perform exercises without any additional equipment or use light hand-held weights and resistance bands. This class is designed to encourage a healthy routine to strengthen and stretch the individual student to be able to perform functional or everyday activities. | Note: Attendance in online class sessions Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 8-9 a.m. is mandatory for section 301.
