Section Info: Omalley Senior Center | Scandinavian and Finnish Composers | This course presents the music of Scandinavian and Finnish composers including Edvard Grieg, Jean Sibelius, Aulis Sallinen, Einojohani Rautavaara, Carl Nielsen, Kari Tikka, Rued Langgaard, Kaija Saariaho, and others. The music of Iceland will also be included. Their works include concertos, orchestral music, and operas. Throughout the course there will be both audio and video presentations representing the finest works of these varied composers.

Section Info: Regular attendance in online class sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 12:30pm-2:30pm is expected for this section. Students enrolled in online sections of COM-111 are required to record speech performances on video while wearing professional business attire and presenting in a professional setting, such as a classroom, office, conference room or a quiet study room on the second floor of the Truxal Library. No live audience will be required. Students will upload their speech videos to Canvas Studio and share access links in class discussion boards.
