Section Info: Annapolis Senior Center | Watercolors | No class May 19 | In this class, participants will learn foundational watercolor techniques while creating a new flower, landscape or painting each week. Each session focuses on one core watercolor skills, with step-by-step instruction and plenty of hands-on practice. The subject is pre-drawn on paper so participants can jump right into learning to paint. Participants will get to know their materials, how to make the most of them, and experiment with new ideas through different subjects, gaining both technical understanding and creative confidence. Note: Supply list will be provided on first day of class.

CRE-913 ONLN-Watercolors

Section Info: Online | Watercolors | This intermediate to advanced watercolor class focuses on improving drawing skills, composition, and design through careful planning. Students will learn how to evaluate reference images and gain confidence with a three-step approach to watercolor. Techniques to avoid muddy colors will be covered, with demos and critiques to help students refine their work. Students will paint their own subjects or images chosen by the instructor, working from photographs and encouraged to take creative risks. | Note: Attendance in online class sessions Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. is mandatory for section 205.

Section Info: Arnold | Watercolors Beginning | Acquaint students with basic elements of watercolor as an art form. Use of line drawings and defining various watercolor applications and techniques will be covered along with discussion of color theory and color mixing. Matting, framing and preservation of work will be discussed. Critiques upon completion of painting projects. Identifying market outlets. Section Info: South County | Watercolors Beginning/Intermediate | This course will acquaint students with basic approaches for working in watercolor. Plan to arrive at the first session with the supplies. The instructor will provide instructions on how to layer paint to build your painting. We will discuss color properties and color mixing. Daily critiques will be provided as projects evolve. Answers to art business questions, as needed. Beginning and intermediate students are welcome. The history of some dances is occasionally explained. Dances can be adapted for students who have physicals limitations.
