Section Info: Severn Senior Center | American Revolution | Explore the ideas behind the American Revolution in the words of the men and women who lived it, from Patrick Henrys incendiary speech of 1775 to George Washingtons Farewell Address in 1796. We will read and discuss writings from, among others, Thomas Paine, Benjamin Franklin, Abigail and John Adams, and Phillis Wheatley. We will inquire into the foundations of freedom, liberty, and democracy in order to build a more perfect union.
