English Language Skills for Technical Training | Examine the English language skills, technical vocabulary and communication strategies needed to participate effectively in classroom, laboratory and workplace-based technical training. Focus on understanding and using technical terminology; following spoken and written instructions; reading technical presentations, procedures, manuals, diagrams, forms and on-screen messages; discussing equipment, processes, measurements and system functions; asking and answering questions in technical settings; taking notes and technical messages; and completing structured workplace documents such as checklists, logs, forms and basic reports. Note: Designed for intermediate to advanced English learners who are preparing to enter or succeed in technical training programs. Intended as a general foundation for English learners entering a range of technical training environments, including, but not limited to, information technology, communications, software, electronics, maintenance and other applied technical fields.
