ART-221 Hist of World Architecture1

Examine the development of world architectural styles, including European, Southeast Asian, Indian, Chinese and Japanese styles, from the ancient world through the late European Middle Ages. Learn architectural design and city planning as responses to religious, political, economic and cultural needs, as well as for an understanding of their structural principles. No previous art courses are necessary. Note: Also offered as ACH 221; credit is not given for both ART 221 and ACH 221.
